Wikimedia User Group Nigeria (WUGN) has officially partnered with the International Media and Information Literacy Institute (IMILI), a UNESCO Category 2 Institute established by the Federal Government of Nigeria. Under an MoU signed on 2 October 2026, WUGN will serve as IMILI's Knowledge and Programme Partner for an initial 2-year term. Together, we will collaborate across 6 key areas: • Research & knowledge sharing • Capacity building • Advocacy & public engagement • Resource mobilisation • Gender equality & inclusion • Regional & international cooperation This partnership brings Wikimedia's open knowledge expertise to IMILI's work in strengthening information integrity, tackling misinformation, and improving digital competencies across Nigeria and Africa.
