Championing Free Knowledge & Open Heritage Across Nigeria
Wikimedia User Group Nigeria is the officially recognized affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation, dedicated to documenting Nigerian languages, cultures, and knowledge.
Advancing Radical Inclusion & Open Verification
Since our affiliate recognition in 2015, Wikimedia User Group Nigeria has pioneered digital knowledge creation across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. We empower educators, librarians, researchers, and indigenous language custodians to record oral histories, digitize historical archives, and expand encyclopedic coverage in Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, Tyap, and Nigerian Pidgin.
We uphold the foundational Wikimedia principle of Neutral Point of View (NPOV), ensuring all documented content is backed by reliable citations and freely licensed under Creative Commons.
